As some of you know, Bill and I moved we bought a ranch style home about a mile and a half west of where we were. It has absolutely no steps on the main level of the house, you can wheel any cart from the driveway right in with out dropping a thing. It also has an unfinished basement. Bill is in love with that.

With the move, I kind of had to look at the "things" in my life. I had to decide if they got to move, or if they should go live with someone else. It made me look at my boxes of stuff and wonder. Could I be a hoarder? I'm sort of organized with my stuff. My house is not usually overly cluttered. I try and keep things neat. I get mad at myself if stuff sits for to long. At our new house we have more storage for things to have their own spot. Cleaning is much easier here.

I still have so much stuff. I get a crafting idea and I buy stuff and then never do the craft. UGH! I buy stuff for the store and then look at it all and then think, if I sell that I am going to kick myself.

Were was this going?

We close on our house tomorrow. Cottonwood Drive and the Boettcher's are now a memory. A very good memory, our first house together. We had lots of fun in that house. We had the best neighbors.

In this last week on the move. I found tons of really neat vintage "stuff" that I forgot that I bought for the store. In the washer right now are vintage hand sewn dishtowels.  The dryer rag rugs, circle rag rugs. I remember buying them I just forgot they were in the garage.

The reason for this post? I took the class we had on Tuesday night, Krazy Kats. I think that all of my vendors must be some degree of a hoarder. We all have stuff. Crazy amounts of stuff that we need to pare down so we can get more "stuff"!

Sign up for a class and help us clean out a drawer or two, pretty please.

February has been something hasn't it?!

I can't get over how much snow we have, my dog is depressed and sleeps all day! He doesn't want to go outside, he tries to sneak out he front door and out on to the street. I think why are you trying to run away your are to little you will freeze before you get to the corner.

My Mom has taken to walking around her car in the garage, she's afraid she will fall on the ice and break something.

My poor husband has become a professional snowblower operator, and can handle a roof rake like he is in the business. He usually sits behind a computer.

To combat all of the snow bringing us down. We have some classes lined up in March and then we have more lined up for April. Mother Nature can still be pretty mean in March so we didn't go crazy with the scheduling.

I am in the process of adding a new paint line and I think you will really like it. Its a lower price and they have 8oz, 16oz and 32oz. sizes. Super easy to use and dries really fast.

We have Iron Orchid Designs stamps and transfers and they are
AWESOME!   I hope to have some stuff done for you to see soon and then classes ready to go in April.

Stop in and check out all the pretties we have added and are adding every week.

Stay warm my friends

Amy

Change is good?

I knew that it had been a long time since I had written a blog post. I didn't think it had been February!

Lots of changes are going on at the store and we are still working out kinks as they say. We still have a storage unit to empty and the basement is full of goodies that we are working on bring up all the time.

If you have been in the store you know that we are no longer carrying Amy Howard At Home products, she has abandoned her boutique retailers.  You can get her products at Ace Hardware in not sure which locations but check out her website and she will tell you. What products we do have left we have on sale so stop in and check it out.  Quarts are $23.00 and samples are $12.00

With that happening I still want to have a paint line and I have talked to countless people and we are going to be carrying the Wise Owl Chalk Synthesis line I have to finalize a couple of things with them today and then we will be having classes and demo's with Wise Owl in the near future.

My home life has just calmed down  a bunch Bill has moved his office into their new place. It's nice not having him worry about the construction part anymore and it's such a wonderful space that his people have to love it. No more cold windows or over working air conditioner because the windows let in to much light and heat. No more mouse and damp smells. It's a very calm and relaxed space. In my travels I am always looking for something interesting to hang on the wall or set around. It's almost like a second home. I had to laugh I found a pretty watercolor print that I thought would work well in the Ladies room. I didn't realize that Bill had taken it to the office and had it hanging up. You see it was framed in the 1980's in a strange color. I was going to paint the frame before he took it but he had other ideas. The Ladies like the print, not the frame and they are so right it is unattractive frame.

When I signed in to do this post I noticed that looks like the old place. I guess I'm going to have to change things around to make it look more up to date.

More changes, I guess I better get used to it Change seems to be the one constant in life.

Hello!
I thought that it had been awhile since I had said Hello so I would tell you about the move to Fall Creek.

It seemed like it took us for ever to get all of our stuff out and then get ourselves organized and open. Lots of things had to happen before opening and we now have a list of great contractors to work with so that things will get done in a timely fashion.  We had to replace uneven flooring and new doors so that you could open the door and come in easily.

I will tell I LOVE our new spot in Fall Creek. The customers that stop shop or just come in and say hello are all wonderful, I don't have much down time. They keep me busy and I love it this is how running a shop should be!

We opened with a new vendor and placed a good sized order and you are all loving it so we have already placed a second order and can't wait for it to come in.  We have a couple of new local vendors that should be dropping by with their items. We seem to add more new items every week and you are liking what we add so that's exciting to see.

Something that didn't go over that great in Eau Claire was classes and we will be starting them on February 17 2018 with a make and take. I'll post pictures in the class section check it out. Then on the 20th we are having a Chalk paint 101 class were you bring in a small item and learn how to chalk paint and use the Amy Howard products to finish your item.

It's an exciting time for us, stop in and say Hello. We look forward to seeing you and chatting. Fall Creek is an awesome place to be.

I took the day off today! I had not planned on it we are still in the process of moving in and all that moving in entails but my stomach said to stay home and so I did.

I got me thinking about the old store the old location. I was thinking that I need to publicly thank Dave Menard for letting me rent the building from him. He was a silent supporter in my dream. Without him having the space to rent and a friend discount I would not be were I am today. TAKING the biggest jump in my life. Do you have people in your life like that? Do you realize who they are? Sometimes I admit that I do not. Moving this store has brought out the helpers in my life, the ones that come when called offer help when you are afraid to ask.  They are always there, and I thank them all for being there always supporting silently.

I took pictures of the building one more time. I thought I would be sad, but I was not I was proud. I have miles yet to go and goals and dreams to accomplish. That little store on Western Ave started it all.

I hope you stay with me, see where this journey leads us on. There will be more tears, more laughter, more sweat and hard work. It will all be fun. Stop by the new location 125 E Lincoln Ave Fall Creek, WI.
I look forward to seeing you all.

Are you ready for Christmas?

Has the Holiday season kind of  gotten here a little to soon? I guess I am just not in the mood for the holidays. We are hosting Thanksgiving dinner and we have not done any shopping for the food. Is Festival going to have any of the supplies we need for the dinner?  I'm not in a ba bum mood I'm just not ready, this year. I was in awe that the radio station was playing Christmas tunes.

A lot of you know that I had my knees replaced this passed year. That Bill and I planned to build a building, that had everything  gone to plan we would be moved into instead of driving by looking to see how far they are in this cold weather. We know have an awesome old bank building that we are getting ready to move into painting a few walls (thank you Kristine), installing new floors and doors. I think all of these things are adding to my not ready for Christmas, I need more time!

Everyone asks when we are moving. It had be January so that we could get a new door installed so that you could open in. That darn door opens so hard to feel like you could pull the building over. The former business was a photography studio and they had a WHITE floor! We had to get rid of that I was not going to have to mop the floor every 5 minutes. LOL  The floor goes in the 28th  and 29th of Nov. and the doors the "second" week of Dec. New merchandise is arriving weekly and we are running sales in the Western Ave store. Stop in and say Hello.

I have a feeling people will be getting gift cards for gifts this year. I better find my holiday spirit so I can enjoy the season or it will all be over and I will have not had much fun.

Well it official!!

We have a new location to move to!!!

If you have been in the store lately I have been telling you all about it.  We are moving to Fall Creek the main street, highway 12. 125 Lincoln Ave to be exact. We have some minor remodeling to do. Mainly put new flooring in the front room and paint a couple of walls other than that we are good to go.

We are going to be running ads in the Leader Telegram that are going to have info on sales and coupons etc.

Lots of exciting things are happening.

We plan to open in the new location in January and will be having new merchandise and workshops all sorts of fun things in store.

Stay tuned for updates.
